| The Tienken Family |
Jodi and I have been married for 22 years. We have two children, Kelby and Burton. We adopted our first dog,
Buddy from the Kenton County Animal Shelter when he was 4 months old. Our 2nd dog, Bailey we adopted from
the Humane Society at Petsmart the week before Christmas 2003. Bailey is not at all interested in Frisbee, Buddy
will catch a disc, but doesn't always bring them back! He also likes to bite them so they don't last long around
him.
We adopted Belle last November. We found her at Petsmart too. She was a furry little brindle puppy that we just
couldn't pass up. At the time we adopted her we thought she might be a Boxer mix, but after we'd had her home
for about 3 days I had a suspicion that she might be a Pit Bull buy the shape of her head.
As she started getting older I noticed how this dog could jump! My very first thought was "Frisbee!". While
doing my online research about Pit Bulls I had come across Roo Yori's site for Wallace and was inspired. We
joined up with the Flying Houndz in the summer of 2007 and have really enjoyed our time with them. We took
Belle to her first competition at Milford Ohio in July and she and Burton took 3rd place in the time trail event! It
was a great day!
I work for Nuance Communications, we write voice recognition software for mobile phones. I have been an avid
runner and have even completed the Cincinnati Flying Pig Marathon in 2000. I enjoy cycling, classic cars (I have
a 1973 Corvette Stingray) and playing music (Guitar and Bass) for my church and also with friends in my
basement studio. I am a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and also served for many years on the Worthington Fire
Department in Jefferson County when we lived in Louisville. We now reside in Florence, KY.
Jodi is a nanny to 2 twin babies and a fantastic mother. She loves her puppies like her own children. She enjoys
walking, crafts, the Andy Griffith Show and American Chopper. She was born and raised in Madison Indiana.
Kelby is the coolest chick in Florence, KY and loves Punk Rock music (she gets that from her dad). She is an
excellent photographer and actor. She performs regularly in her High School Drama Club and has won statewide
awards for excellence in theatre.
Burton loves sports of all types and plays Baseball, Football and Basketball. He really took to disc dogging and
loves animals with all his heart. Burton is an aspiring drummer and wants to be a professional baseball player
when he grows up.
